DS90UR910-Q1: "2 Lane and 4 Lane LVDS to CSI Converter Chip"

Hi Team,

We are in need of 4 Lane or 2 Lane LVDS to CSI Converter Chip. When we searched in TI & other distributor websites, we got few parts but with following uncertainties:

1. Looks like there are no any 4 Lane or 2 Lane LVDS to CSI Converter Chips. Single lane LVDS parts such as DS90UR910 are available. But I didnt get any 2 lane or 4 lane parts. Please confirm.
2. I believe FPD Link III does not support LVDS (refer wiki statement "FPD-Link III stops using LVDS technology and uses only CML"). Please confirm.

Hello Madhusoodana,

The terms "FPD-Link" and "LVDS" are sometimes used interchangeably since FPD-Link I was developed for transmitting LVDS but modern FPD-Link II and III are not the same.

What is the 4 lane/2 lane LVDS source you are trying to translate?

We are trying to translate 2 lane/4 lane LVDS from a microprocessor to CSI format.

Is there any chip from TI which will do this conversion ?

Hello Madhusoodana,

Can you please provide more detailed information about the LVDS data format which is coming from the microprocessor? Timing diagrams and bit mappings would be helpful.

LVDS data which is coming from the microprocessor will carry video information.

Whether the following chips can support LVDS protocol at their input ? If yes, how about their availability with TI ?:

DS90UH940TNK

DS90UH940NTNK

Hello Madhusoodana,

Please note that "LVDS" is a general term covering many standards and data formats. DS90Ux940-Q1 only receives LVDS signals from an FPD-Link transmitter.

Please share more details on the LVDS data format from the microprocessor and I can point you in the right direction.
