Hello Experts,

I have a question as follows.

1. Can supply 5V to VPWR-pin? The figure 25 in datasheet p24 shows that 5V supply to both of VPWR-pin and VM-pin. Is this correct?
2. What is "IC_CC_LEAK_ OVP"? Where does it through? CCx-pin to C_CCx-pin or something?
3. When VM=VPWR is set 0V, device will detect OVP? Also ESDclamp is enabled?

Yes, it can put at 5V but VPWR pin max value should not exceed 5.5V. It recommend 2.7-4.5V.

2. What is "IC_CC_LEAK_ OVP"? Where does it through? CCx-pin to C_CCx-pin or something?

It from C_CCX to device internal. Not from C_CCx to CCx pin.

3. When VM=VPWR is set 0V, device will detect OVP? Also ESDclamp is enabled?

When VM and VPWR set to 0V the OVP function is disable but the ESD clamp still enable. The ESD clamp is active no matter power on and off. You can refer to Page 14, table 1 in datasheet

Hi Michael,

Thanks for answer. For question #1, VPWR recommendation voltage is 2.7V~4.5V as datasheet stated. Can customer use VPWR=5V condition at real application? Can TI guarantee VPWR=5V condition at real application?

Hi Fujiwara-san,

Yes, 5V in VPWR is OK , this is application is within TI SPEC.

Hi Michael-san,

Thank you for answer, I understand. I have one more question.

If TPD2S300 is in unpowered mode(VPWR<UVLO) and high voltage(less than 24V) is applied to C_CCx-pin, TPD2S300 will be not damaged, correct? The table 1 shows "don't care", so I suppose TPD2S300 does not have damage in above condition.

Yes, the ABS max value of C_CCx is 24V , no matter device be power on and off, this pin can sustain 24V and device not damaged.

Thank you for answer. I have more question.

If high voltage(24V) apply to C_CCx-pin, high voltage will not be through at CCx-pin even if VPWR is set 0V, correct?
