SN65DPHY440SS: Lane swapping in CSI-2 application

Part Number: SN65DPHY440SS

Hi Team,

Our customer is working on a design with SN65DPHY440SS. On the typical applications given on the datasheet, it is mentioned that the CSI-2 does not require lane ordering and that all possible combinations are supported by the device. Their current application is using 4 data lanes camera, but this can be reduced to only 1 or 2 data lanes. For ease of layout, they intend to swap D0 to D3, D1 to D2. Would this work out of the box? Are there any extra changes in the registers to enable this configuration?

Thank you for the help.

Kind Regards,

Jejomar

No, there is no change in the registers to support lane swap. Please make sure you keep the same lane order between the DPHY440 input and the output.

Please note that for all CSI-2 implementations, the polarity must be maintained between the CSI-2 Source and CSI-2 Sink. The DPHY440 does not support polarity inversion.

    Thanks
