TCA9617B: Connection Check of TCA9617B

Part Number: TCA9617B

Hi Expert,

Would you please help check if any concerns with customer's connections below?

1. Two I2C master access one I2C slave device passthrough TCA9617B,but two I2C master don’t access I2C device at the same time.

2. I2C Master access two I2C devices passthrough TCA9617B, two I2C devices have different I2C address.

  • Hello Shenhua,

Both configurations you provided look good based on the descriptions, I do not see a problem with this.

Typically the biggest concerns with this device is if B side of the device is connected to another static voltage offset buffer (like another TCA9617B). The only other thing you may need to take note of is that B side of the device has a VoL of about 0.52V so you need to ensure the master/slave can accept this VoL (check to see what their ViL is which in typical I2C compliant devices should be 30% of Vcc).

    Thanks,

    -Bobby
