TCAN1043H-Q1: how does device wake-up from sleep to standby mode

Part Number: TCAN1043H-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043

hi Team,

my customer is evaluating the TCAN1043H-Q1 for automotive application

it needs to save power as much as possible.

from the figure 21 State Diagram, we see there are three methods to exit from sleep mode

1. SLEEP to SILENT mode -> require Vcc and Vio supplied

2. SLEEP to NORMAL mode -> require Vcc and Vio supplied

3. SLEEP to Standby mode -> what is the Vcc and Vio condition required for this mode transition?

can the SLEEP to Standby mode transition happen with Vcc and Vio at 0V?, they target to use INH to turn on Vcc and Vio supply AFTER entering Standby mode

  • John,

VCC and VIO do not have to present to transition from Sleep to Standby mode. How the customer wants to use this transition is actually the intent of the Sleep to Standby transition using the INH pin. Once the Sleep to Standby mode transition occurs, the system has up to 340 ms to return VCC and VIO above the under voltage threshold for the TCAN1043. If the voltages are not past the under voltage thresholds in time the device will go back into sleep mode. For more information on this refer to tUV parameter and the Remote Wake Request section (10.4.6.1) in the datasheet.

    Regards,
