TPS65987D: Can we use FTDI to I2C/SPI adaptor to Flash external SPI Flash memory

Hi 

I am using TPS65987D in my one of the project and we connected external SPI flash in my board which is not programmed. Can i use FTDI USB to I2C Adapter or Aardvark USB to I2C/SPI adapter to flash this external SPI memory? Can i use both TPS65987D's I2C1 as well SPI pins directly connected to this adapter or not?
