Hi Team
My customer would like to select the bridge IC from MIPI to LVDS.
Does this IC could output 60 fps 800 X 480 at 18 bpp and 24 bpp as attached? Or any suggestion?

Hi Roy,
Please check #7 of this application note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla356/slla356.pdf
I believe the SN65DSI83 should be able to support 800 x 480 @ 60Hz, but the clock frequency looks to be getting very close to the minimum supported frequency, so the customer should double check with their display datasheet.

Hi I.K.
I'm not familiar with this device. Could you help show me how to calculate the clock frequency?
Regards,
Roy
Hi I.K.,
Just would like to double check below point with you.
LVDSCLK = 800*480*60*(1+%blanking) = 23.04MHz(if blanking=0)
So we need to verify the %blanking in panel to check if 23.04*(1+%blanking) > 25MHz(minimum LVDS CLK frequency), right?
Thank you.
Regards,
Roy
Hi Roy,
Your calculation is correct but blanking will never be 0.
If you have the panel datasheet you don't need to do any calculations, as it will state the required clock frequency as well as all the other timing parameters.
You can also reference this training video, as it goes over how to configure the device with information from a panel datasheet: https://training.ti.com/configuring-sn65dsi8x-single-channel-dsi-single-link-lvds-operation
