LMH1297: Video via SDI

Hi Team,

  My customer is evaluating video via SDI using LMH1297, have several questions need your look into.

  1. If use LMH1297, does BNC connector a must, or do we have other interfaces? BNC is big and space consume. 

  2. Customer want to transmit RAW DATA, not YUV422, 12bits/pix 4K, can LMH1297 support this?

    Hi Holly,

    1). BNC is not a must. As long as SDI_IO trace is 75-ohm single ended this should be fine.

    2). LMH1297 is a physical layer device. As long as pattern is such as 8/10 bits coded data, PRBS, or YUV this should be fine. To check feasability, suggestion is to use two LMH1297EVMs and use what ever data pattern is needed for this application.
