TPS65987D: LDO_3V3 Reset State

Part Number: TPS65987D

Hi,

What will be the voltage on the LDO_3V3 pin of the TPS65987D when it is in the Reset state? Will it be able to power the Flash during reset? The Pin Functions table has a "-" in the Reset State column for LDO_3V3, but it is unclear to me how to interpret this.

Thanks!

  • Hello Marcis,

As long as power is not removed from VIN_3V3, then yes, LDO_3V3 will remain enabled during a reset state. This LDO is not effected in a reset state which is probably why it is denoted with a "-".

  • I see, thank you for your reply. What if the TPS65987D is not powered from VIN_3V3 but from VBUS? Will LDO_3V3 remain enabled as well?

  • Probably not. If you enter into a reset state and there is a connection on VBUS, the TPS65987D will do a port disconnect which will remove power from VBUS thus removing power from LDO_3V3. However, the TPS65987D will then go into its normal dead battery boot sequence by power LDO_3V3 once VBUS comes back up, and then loading the configuration from the flash
