DS90UB954-Q1: Lock time definition

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi team,

I got below questions about from customer, could you support belows?

Q.1) Regarding to Power-up sequence , there are 2 figures, Figure 58 in DS90UB954, and Figure 23 in DS90(B953.

Will Figure 58 is correct definition for lock time of DS90UB954, it looks difference in start timing definition between two sequence.

Q.2) CSI_TX enable timing

Is there any issue if MCU enables CSI_TX_enable before Sensor configuration?

Best regards,

  • Hello,

    1. Are you able to clarify, are you asking specifically about the difference in the lock signal between the two figures? Also it should be know that figure 58 shows a timing diagram for when non-synchronous clock mode is being used and figure 23 in the 953 datasheet is for synchronous mode.

    2. Are you asking if the 954 can transmit CSI-2 data before any is received from the serializer?  If so than no issues with the SERDES should occur.  Can I ask what is the scenario where you are trying to transmit CSI prior to configuring the sensor?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

    Thanks for your prompt support.

For Q1, it's my mistake and would like to withdraw Q1.

For Q2, system is configured as synchronization mode.Customer concern's if there should be serious issue by asserting CSI TX enable of 954 before configuring Sensor remotely, because they are now developing software with this sequence.

    Best regards,

  • So if you look at section 7.4.28.1 of the 954 datasheet it suggests that the CSI-2 transmitter be enabled prior to any data being forwarded to allow for proper start up of the transmitter.  So you should enable the transmitter before any CSI data becomes available to forward.

    Regards,

    Nick
