TUSB1064: AUX_N and AUX_P AC coupling and values

Part Number: TUSB1064
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDP142

I am planning on having a display port connector on my board which will be connected (via DP cable) to a display so I believe I am using the TUSB1064 and display port as a source.  Is this correct?

I noticed the datasheet (typical circuit in Figures 28/29) has AUXP and AUXN biasing for a sink device.

For my application I think we need to use the 100k resistors, as connected below, for a source application.  Can you confirm this configuration and the correct components to populate on the EVM board?

Source application

AuxP pull down to GND via 100k Ohm RES (Populate EVB R6)

AuxN pull up to 3.3V via 100k Ohm RES (Populate EVB R1)

Populate R79/R80 with 100nF capacitors.

  • Hi,

TUSB1064 is designed for the USB Type_C sink side application. For DP application, I would recommend SN65DP141 or TDP142.

For the DP source application, besides AC coupling the AUX, you would need a 100k pulldown on AUXP and 100k pullup to 3.3V on AUXN.

For the DP sink application, besides AC coupling the AUX, you would a need a 1M pullup to 3.3V on AUXP and 1M pulldown on AUXN.

    Thanks
