Hello, I would like to use the DS30BA101 and DS30EA101 to transmit and receive 8b/10b encoded data over 50 ohm coaxial cable. The cable is about 1 meters long and data rate is 3.125Gbps.

Datasheet only shows 100 ohm differential cable and 75 ohm single-ended coaxial cable applications.

If I change termination resistor value from 75 ohm to 50 ohm in your 75 ohm coaxial cable application, the data transmission work properly?

    Hi Sungjin,

    Yes please refer to figure 4 of the DS30EA101 data sheet. Here are the changes:

    1). Change all 75-ohm to 50-ohm Resistors as you noted.

    2). On DS30BA101, you may need to change RVO from 750-ohm to about 950 ohm.

    3). On DS30EA101 also you may need to change 37.4-ohm Resistor to 25 ohm.
