TLK2711-SP: Potential device replacement to TLK2701?

Part Number: TLK2711-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK2501

Hi,

I'm looking at this part as viable option to use following the EOL of TLK2701. Even though on the EOL notice TLK2501 was suggested as the device to migrate to I find it not suitable for my project as the transceiver data bus is different. Since i'm already familiar with K-Code data bus control will be better if I shift my design towards TLK2711? Also what are the key differences between TLK2701 & TLK2711 which i should take note of?

Regards,
Leo

  • The TLK2501 is fully footprint compatible with TLK2701. The TLK2711 implements different package and pinout; it is a 68-pin package versus 64-pin used for TLK2701. Functionally though I agree the TLK2711 would be an alternative for you if you are open to modifying your board layout.
