SN75LVPE4410: SN75LVPE4410

Part Number: SN75LVPE4410

Question on Receiver Detect State Machine:

On SN75LVPE4410, where is the Receiver Detect State Machine located, on the RX pins or TX pins? In other words, does the part initiate RXDET protocol or just a slave that response to RXDET protocol?

  • Hello-

The RX detection happens of the TX side of the SN75LVPE4410.  Immediately after the  device power-up, a common mode RX Detect pulses are sent and the amplitude of the reflected wave measured.  If a valid termination is detected on the connected PCIe receiver, the SN75LVPE4410 enables its RX terminations and linear drivers.

  • Davor,

If RX side is not connected on SN75LVPE4410, does it still turn on RX termination upon detection of RXDET load impedance on TX side?

Also does the RXDET state machine run continuously if not finding a load?

    Thanks..

  • Hello-

The answer is yes to both of your questions.
