DS90UB935-Q1: Did the DS90UB960-Q1 EVM support to detect the DS90UB935-Q1 profile?

Part Number: DS90UB935-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB960-Q1, , ALP

Hi Sir

I used DS90UB960-Q1 EVM module to connect my designed 935 module, but failed to detect.

Did the DS90UB960-Q1 EVM support to detect the DS90UB935-Q1 profile?

Or I need to have the right profile?

thanks.

  • Hi Alpha,

What do you mean by detect? Like are you getting LOCK on the 960? What is the value of registers 0x4d, 0x4e? or do you mean that when you go to the remote registers tab, you can't communicate to the 935?

Also, do you have the latest ALP-PROFILE-UPDATE patch? This is different from the actual ALP profile download. If not, go to the link below and download and run the patch on your desktop.

  • Hi Mandeep,

I have to re-check the 0x4d and 0x4e register value in my office later.

Actually I have the 960EVM and 953EVM and the 960EVM can show the 953 remote register tab.

But when I re-plug my designed 935 module, the ALP tool show it was not the partner chip 953 and remote register is blank (I will show later to screen catch)

I did have download the attached path ALP tool and execute the both ALP framework utility and ALP update profile. I will recheck it again later.

Can you confirm that the 960EVM can work with 935 module again?

    thanks.

  • Hi Mandeep,

  • Hi Mandeep,

It failed at without populated the C1002.

At initial, the C1002 was not populated because the component height conflicted with the ME structure. Put it back, the the link was ok finally.

Do you know what importance is at the C1002?

    thanks.

  • Hi Alpha,

That's good to hear. All the decoupling caps are needed for filtering noise. It's possible that your system is quite sensitive to frequencies that would be filtered by the C1002 cap and without it you start having issues.
