HD3SS3212: Switch select pin dynamically is this OK to do?

Hi expert,

My customer would like to know that, is that required to pull EN pin low and change level of SEL pin? Or it is OK to pull high or low, no matter EN is high or low?

Hi Oliver,

Not sure if I understand your question but OEn pin (EN) must be pulled low for HD3SS3212 to be active. When HD3SS3212 is active SEL pin will control mux line with Table 1. Port Select Control Logic in the datasheet. When OEn is high SEL if a "no care" as the part is in shutdown mode.

Hi Malik,

Sorry that I missed the EN pin is low active.

We would like to know that when we are change the status on SEL pin, is that required to put EN# pin in specific status and pull low after the SEL changing is finished?

Hi Oliver,

EN# pin must to low for SEL to have any affect. EN# must be pulled low before SEL pin changes state to switch between inputs.
