SN65LVCP114: can the diagnostic mode turn this device into a splitter for continuous use?

If I understand correctly, the SN65LVCP114 can be put in diagnostic mode and split a 6Gbps signal. Just to make sure I am clear, I need to split the signal (one input, two simultaneous outputs) and not simply mux the signal. Are there any concerns in making the device to permanently operate in diagnostic mode? What are the limitations, concerns, or issues with releasing a product based on this feature?

    Greetings,

    I don't see an issue putting the device in 1:2 broadcast mode. Essentially in this mode it is like have one input going to two outputs of the cross point. We should make sure from power/thermal point of view - as noted in section 7.5 of the AC parametric table - the overall system meets the requirements.
