TLK2711-SP: Clock generator for TLK2711-SP

I am using IDTs clock generator "8T49N241-998NLGI" for generating clock for TLK2711-SP. The RMS Phase jitter of clock generator is 383fs and in TLK2711 datasheet, mentioned Peak to Peak jitter of 40ps. There is no mention of RMS Phase jitter in TLK2711 datasheet. Can you help me to get the details and whether i can use the above clock generator for generating clock for TLK2711?

Hi Anand,

Based on the required bit error rate normally you would multiply RMS value by a factor to get peak to peak jitter. For 1e-12 bit error, we would multiple your RMS jitter by 14. This gives you .383*14=5.36ps peak to peak jitter. Therefor you have plenty of margin with respect to the 40ps peak to peak jitter requirement.
