TPS65982: USB EP functionality

Hello,

I'm trying to use TPS65982 USB EP functionality , but it is poorly documentated, is there any more resources on this?

i have set the USBEP_ENABLE_EVENT to GPIO_PIN1 and pulled it high. Then using TPS6598x Host Interface Tools, have set it to use USB EP.

After that i press the "Test Configuration Settings" button, but it shows an error , as i understand it opens the EP and works , but it cant read any registers.

Is there any more setting in the TPS65982 FW that i need to set to get this working? Is there any more documentation on using the USB EP?

Hello,

Are you using the EVM or your own system to interact with the TPS65982? Are you loading the configuration generated by the configuration using an external flash?

I modified https://www.ti.com/tool/TIDA-00714 this boards FW and uploaded it to the flash memory. Then i connected the device to my pc using USB-C to USB-A cable. As i see it , there shouldn't be any problems with this, because im only interested in the USB 2.0 to host interface part.

After a little digging i found the problem. http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/tps65982.pdf?&ts=1589263154097 in the datasheet you can find that USB EP will only work if you have VIN_3V3.

When VIN_3V3 is not present and a dead-battery condition is supported , the device is a sink and is powered by VBUS. This means that you cant use USB EP in this mode. Just putting it out there, maybe this is gonna help someone in a similar struggle.
