DS90UB954-Q1: How to prevent loss of LOCK

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AWR1243

Hello,

We are using DS90UB954 to deserialize DS90UB953, and DS90UB953 receives CSI-2 data from AWR1243.

Now DS90UB954 loses LOCK immediately after starting CSI-2 data transmission from AWR1243. After a while LOCK of DS90UB954 becomes stable.

When we disable adaptive EQ, loss of LOCK dosen't occur. (Address 0xD4[0]:0x0→0x1, other AEQ registers are default values)

I have two questions:

1. Why enabling AEQ cause loss of LOCK?

2. How to prevent loss of LOCK?

Thank you

  • Hi Genki,

Are you saying that once the camera is enabled, you temporarily loses lock until AEQ adapts to a different setting?

This may be because once the camera is enabled, there's some noise introduced to the link and the initial AEQ setting no longer works. The AEQ starts incrementing to find a working setting. When you disable adaptive EQ, the EQ setting might already be good.

I would recommend running the margin analysis test: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla301/snla301.pdf?&ts=1589406638294 to set the desired EQ range.

    Best,
