TUSB212: What is wrong with the device?

Dear all

I use the TUSB212RWBR device, as below is my schematic diagram, but I found there is not output on the D1M / D1P pins with my PCBA, I had test the VCC is 3.3V, and change the voltage of DC_BOOST signal by 3.3V,GND and 1.65V, but there is not active.

Could you help me to check what is wrong with it ? Thanks a lot.

D1P should be shorted to D2P and D1M should be shorted to D2M underneath the device. Please see Section 8.2.2 of the datasheet and refer to Figure7 for schematic example and Figure 22 for layout example.

This device is designed to be populated directly on the DP/DM traces so not to break the trace connection.

Hi,

USB 2 DP and DM must be shorted from D1x side to D2x side. See Figure 7. Reference Schematic in datasheet

I had check the datasheet, it is exactly as you described, I will change the SCH and PCB according to the datasheet.

But I cann't understand if shorted, the device how to implement the conditioning function ?

Hi, this device uses a proprietary method to condition the signal without breaking the trace. This enables flexibility in the design for device placement as well as adding the device as a BOM option without the need for a layout change.
