TUSB8043: Operating temperature range of the device TUSB8043

Hi,

I have planned to use TUSB8043 in my design. In datasheet I could find two temperature as

Operating free-air temperature as 0 to 70 °C
Operating Junction temperature as -40 to 105 °C

1.Can you let me know what is the difference between them?

2.And what will be operating temperature range of the device?

My design requirement for operating temperature range is -20 to 85 °C. Please confirm if I can use this device for my requirement

Hi Menaka,

The free air temperature is the environment or ambient or room temperature where the TUSB8043 is, whereas the operating junction temperature is the temperature of the die inside the package or inside the IC.

Typically system temperature ranges are defined as the ambient temperature. You will need an industrial range device, we have one for the TUSB8043A:
