May pin 8 of SN65HVD1050 be left floating for normal CAN operation? Datasheet is not very clear about this.

    Gerard,

    There is an internal pull-down on pin 8, so if the pin is left floating it will be in the low state. When pin 8 is in the low state, the device is in normal mode and can function with normal CAN operation.
