DP83867E: DP83867E (Ethernet switches are not connected with long network cable )

TI engineer Hello!

My device used DP83867ERGZT chip, using 100 BASE-TX full duplex mode. My equipment can only connect 20 meters below the network cable, more than 20 meters of network cable can not connect to the Ethernet switch.

I need help and advice.

can you provide the signal quality inspection method or process support for the equipment to connect the long wire.

Hello,

Thank you for selecting the DP83867 in your device. One feature the DP83867 has is cable diagnostics. The DP83867 uses Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) to determine the quality of the cables, connectors, and terminations in addition to estimating the cable length. You can refer to section 8.4.6 Cable Diagnostics to inspect any types of issue you may see on the cables.
