TLK2711 Idle data pattern

I'm using a TLK2711A and a FPGA for a project I'm working on but I can't seem to find relevant info of what to do in case there is no data available to be sent. I know that to sync I need to sent a valid comma (K28.5) in the lower byte and some data in the higher byte (D5.6), twice. After the sync bytes I will sent my data but what to sent if I have no more data, do I need to sent some kind of Idle pattern or something to keep the link open and not cause a LOS on the receiving end.

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

  Floris
