TUSB522P: IBIS model channel loss consideration

Part Number: TUSB522P

Hi expert,

For the re-driver model (TUSB522P)

1.Is the Rx model(file name : RX_generic.ibs) included cable model and CTLE? Or, I should implement the 3-m cable model and CTLE by myself at the end of the channel?

2. When I do the simulation,  should we need to consider any PCH effects(ex: CPU package , buffer, pad loss)?

3.What’s components is inside the dB loss?(ex: CPU package , buffer, pad loss) or only PCB loss for -10.5 dB ?

  • Hi Oliver,

    1. The RX_generic.ibs file does not include losses from a cable model or CTLE. 3 m cable model should be implemented separately through SnP block. CTLE can be implemented by using RX_DIFF block.

    2. These can be included but PCB losses are primarily used here. TX performance is typically measured at the output taking into account these package losses.

    3. What dB loss are you referring? Typically dB loss is listed with respect to the channel or the loss in between the at the output of the transmitter and the input of the  receiver.
