DS90UB954-Q1: Is there a way to use SPI with GPIOs ?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi everyone,

In a project of IR Camera supply by PoC we would use a LEDControler set by a SPI interface.

My problem concern the FPDLink board used for this which is DS90UB95x (serializer and deserializer).

There is no SPI interface on it but is there a way to use GPIOs as SPI port  ?

If yes, What would be the refresh rate of GPIOs, forward and backward channel? How can we determine those values?

Thanks for your answer.

Best regards,

Sebastien

  • Hello Sebastien,

Please reference the 954 datasheet sections 7.4.13.3 and 7.4.13.4 which give information on the maximum signaling rates for forward or back channel GPIO. You can use GPIOs to transfer SPI signals so long as the GPIO signaling rates and timings are considered according to the datasheet specification

    Best Regards,
