DS26LV31T: Absolute Maximum Rating for Differential Input Voltage

Part Number: DS26LV31T

Hi Expert,

Customer used DS26LV31T*8 in 8 boards and see there is high chance 20/100 showing the end terminal 8th DO+/- damaged(short) just in room temp.

The measured DO+/-  15.375Vpp  looks quite high.

Green: data

Purple: clock

The abs max rating only specify Driver Output Voltage but didn't specify what's the receiver differential common mode range. Would you please clarify and provide possible causes? Thank you.

Regards,

Allan

  • Hi Allan,

The driver output only supports a -0.5 V to +7 V range, so this very high signal amplitude would be a problem.  Actually, such a high output amplitude does not make sense to me - the DO outputs of this device (per design) could not drive beyond the VCC/GND rails.  Where is this large voltage coming from?  Maybe you could share some more details on the system (schematic, etc.) so that we can help debug?  Feel free to contact me via email if the information is sensitive.

    Regards,
    Max
