Part Number: ONET1130EC

Hi team,

My customer is evaluating ONET1130EC. When the input is AC-coupled and the interval between dataframe to dataframe is long, the RX input amplitude becomes lower than 9mVp-p(max) which is specified as "Data input sensitivity" in the datasheet. In this case, customer saw that unexpected signal outputs from RXOUT+/-.

How should customer deal with such an issue?

Regards,

Saito

  • Hi Saito-San,

1). Please confirm my understanding of what your customer is seeing. When there is a gap within data frames AND signals on RXIN+/- becomes less than 9mVpp, then your customer is seeing un-expected signal on RXOUT+/-. Is my understanding correct?

2). What is meant by "unexpected signal". Do you mean there is bit errors?

    Regards,, Nasser

  • Hi Nasser-san,

Thank you for your reply. I will check your question to customer.

I will get back to you soon.

    Yes, this is correct.

Even though there is no signal between data frames, signal outputs from RXOUT.

The additional infromation is they are using 0.1uF AC-coupling capacitor as described in the datasheet.

  • Hi Saito-San,

Data input sensitivity is 6mV typical and worst case 9mV. For proper normal operation we should keep signal above 9mV peak to peak.

RXLOSRNG=0 (Register 4 bit 0) increases minimum input threshold to declare loss of signal. Setting this bit may help in your customer application.
