DS90UB940-Q1: IDx

Part Number: DS90UB940-Q1

Hi Team,

My customer now use DS90UB940 and meet some questions.

  • They use ds90ub940-evm for debugging. IDx pin is set to mode 1 and I2C address is 0x2c.read address is 0x58 return val is 0x58. They could display successfully in EVM.

  • In customer's own board. Setup the hardware address is 0x58, but can't find 940 through I2C in 0x58 address and can find 940 through I2C in 0x78.

And on customer's own PCB (The schematic design is consistent with DS90UB940 EVM, there is no problem in welding, and the power supply is normal). IDx pin hardware (register) is set to mode 1, which is 0x58 as the above table shows. But customer can't find DS90UB940 at the address of 0x58. When customer tried to read I2C at other addresses and found that only when I2C address setup as 0x3C (read address is 0x78), DS90UB940 can be recognized.

  • Even though customer now could find the address 0x78, there is no output in 940 (the lock is high.)

Because the address I2C could only read is 0x3c, customer changed the I2C address to 0x3c by software. In this case, when the FPD link III cable is connected, the lock pin status is high, but the csi-2 interface output has no signal.

Here is SCH as following.

Could you please give some guidance about these two issues?

thanks!

  • Hello Amelie,

Based on the schematic provided it seems likely that the power sequence could be violated for the device since there is no cap to GND on the PDB pin and PDB is tied up to 3.3V with a resistor only. Can you please verify the power sequence waveforms against Table 102 from the datasheet to ensure the supplies ramp in the correct order and PDB is arriving after the supplies have ramped up?

    Best Regards,

    Casey
