DS90UH948-Q1EVM: Display color is weird in screen panel

Hi Team,

My customer used TI DS90UB947-Q1EVM and DS90UB948-Q1EVM to do the test? But they find the screen color is strange and not correct display.

Their H/W configuration as below:

1.  One channel LVDS input from Mother board to DS90UB947-Q1EVM

2. A Dual FPD-LINKIII cable connect with DS90UH948-Q1EVM

3. DS90UH948 dual LVDS output to panel, resolution is 1280x480., 60Hz

 

And they also asked which configuration they should select? see  below table.

    Hi Paul,

    To separate concerns (stepping away from the strap modes) and to focus on the display, lets first try patgen from the 948 directly to the display.

    Please use the PatGen built into ALP and input the timing information for the display.

    Are you able to get a successful colorbar without the weird colorations?

    If you are still having issues after using patgen, please send me the images of the output on the display and the main register dumps from the register tab and the patgen register dump from the indirect register tab.

    Hi Bryan,

    I had tested the pattern mode by 947 to 948 and the result is positive.

    I try to output lvds signal from imx8q to 947 and 948 but the color is not correct on screen.

    Also, I use adb command to get the screenshot. For the screenshot, the color is correct.

    Are there registers that i need to set up on 947 or 978?

    Hello Ivan,

    It looks like the issue may be with the MAPSEL setting. Can you change MAPSEL from 1 or 0? Also the 94x EVMs typically use STP configuration so unless you have modified the EVM, please select STP mode instead of coax mode
