TPS65987D: TPS65987D display question

Part Number: TPS65987D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS460,

Hi TI engineer:

We found a problem during the application of TPS65987D+HD3ss460. When the TYPE-C external HUB of our motherboard, the display output is HDMI and can be displayed normally, but we bought a TYPE-C display directly connected to the motherboard, there is no display, the display we Use other TYPE-C equipment to confirm that the display is normal. Is it related to some parameters of FW?

  • Hello,

I am confused as to where the TPS65987D is and how it relates to the HDMI port. Would you be able to share a block diagram of all the connections to have a better understanding.

As far as the TPS65987D, it's role is to negotiate a PD contract between the two devices, with one of the messaging sequences being a display port alternate mode. As long as you see the TPS65987D negotiate a alternate mode contract and enter into DP mode, the TPS65987D has done its job

  • Hi Adam:

We purchased a new display device and the display is normal, thanks for your support!
