TPS65982: Could 0x3F Power Status register be used to get a connected legacy device's needed current?

Hi guys,

Does 0x3F Power Status keep a needed connection's current or an actual flowing real one whether a legacy device is connected?

So could I use 0x3F Power Status to get the needed current? Or should I use any other register?

Hello Yevhen,

To determine if a legacy device is connected, you can also refer to bits 24:25 of register 0x1A

Yes, sir. I use it. But how to detect the current A ? Could my board take 1 A, 1.5 A or just 0.5 A from the legacy charger?

What register could I use to read A?

If it is a legacy charger, and you only advertise the default current limit, it will only advertise a maximum current of 900mA

The TPS65982 does not have the ability to measure the current through the power path
