TUSB1210: VBUS Pin

Part Number: TUSB1210
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8042

Hello team,

My customer is using TUSB1210 and has some questions regarding the following three pins:

VBUS, CPEN, ID

Since the TUSB1210 is connected between their FPGA and USB Hub (TUSB8042AIRGC), they left ID and CPEN floating.  The block diagram for TUSB1210 seems to indicate that the VBUS is really only an input (they assume to detect 5V).

What should they do with the VBUS pin?  They are tempted to connect to their board 5V, but not sure if that is a good idea.

Thank you for your support!

Errol
