TPS65987D: Differences between TPS65987D and TPS65987DDJ & which EVM

I'm don't understand what the differences between the two USB PD controllers TPS65987D and TPS65987DDJ are they also seem to have different datasheets?

I wan't to use the controllers together with a USB-C PD compatible power supply to power our new device with 15 V / 3 A (the device doesn't use batteries, we just need an external power supply).

Can I use the USB-C-PD-TKT-EVM as starting point? This EVM is indeed linked only on the DDJ device page and not on the D page of the TPS65987, so I'm again a bit confused?

Hi Roger,

The internal ROM is different between the TPS65987D and the TPS65987DDJ as they are intended for different applications. The TPS65987DDJ is intended for Thunderbolt platforms while the TPS65987D is intended for all other platforms.

So for your system, I would use the TPS65987D. You can use the TPS65987EVM and the USB-C-PD-DUO-EVM as a starting point
