Looking for an IC with I2C port to communicate with Li-ion battery RRC2054-2 (digital interface for this battery)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430-SMBUS

I use an RRC2054-2 battery for the supply of my conception, which is a Li-Ion rechargeable battery, and is designed to communicate with a host or a charger through the System Management Bus (SMBus) protocol. In other words, the communication with the battery is based on the principals of operation of I²C.

Do you have one or more integrated circuits with those that I can communicate with my battery? Even better if you already have a schematic with TI components.

In summary, I would like to develop a digital interface for this battery.

Regards.

  • Hello,

Appreciate your patience!  I think your best starting point should be the MSP430-SMbus Library.  The Design guide shows 2 of our MSP430 launchpads that the library was developed on, for interfacing to SMbus.  It's not a full layout but it describes the connections needed and can be prototyped fairly easily with the launchpad.

Take a look at the design guide and let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    JD
