SN65DP159: some questions to SN65DP159

Part Number: SN65DP159

Hi Expert,

1. AUX signal:

Does the AUX_SRCp/n are no use when DDI convert to HDMI 2.0B at that moment?

2.TX_TERM_CTL

we have both package RGZ and RSB for SN65DP159, and the TX_TERM_CTL pin only present on RGZ package.

Does means that TX_TERM_CTL could use pin strap setting for 48pin of RGZ package, only through software setting for 40pin  of RSB package, right?

Have any extra difference of TX_TERM_CTL to both packages? function? usage?

Regards,

Mark

    1. The SNx5DP159 device incorporates the I 2C-over-AUX to DDC bridge to support the DisplayPort Dual-Mode standard version 1.1. It enables the communication between source device and sink device through AUX channel. The bridge receives the request from source device in the I 2C-over-AUX format and transfers it into DDC signal to sink device. When the sink device responds, the request in the DDC channel and bridge packages it into I 2C-over-AUX and sends it back to the source device. So if the source supports I2C-over-AUX, then you can use AUX. If not, you can use DDC.

    2. For the RGZ package, the TX_TERM_CTL is recommended to be NC so it is in auto select mode. This is the same function as the RSB package. The RGZ package does give the additional option of manually configuring TX_TERM_SEL pin either high or low while RSB does not in the pin-strap mode.

    Thanks
