PCA9545A: Whether we can float the pins in the red circuit below if not used(for example SC0, SC1)

Part Number: PCA9545A

Hi team,

My customer is using the PCA9545A now. We want to check how to deal with the not used pins, Whether we can float the pins in the red circuit below if not used? Thanks.

  • Hi Frank,

Unfortunately your image didn't come through, but I will try to give a general answer for what to do with unused pins.  The datasheet recommends for /RESET and INT lines to be pulled up.  The handling of unused SDA/SCL channels isn't critical but I would recommend connecting pull-up resistances to them so that communication continues to work if they are mistakenly activated.  Address pins must be biased high or low so that the device has a defined I2C slave address.  If you had any questions beyond this please just let me know.

    Regards,
    Max
