The DS16EV5110A datasheet states that it is designed to support TMDS pairs with DC coupled lines. Does this mean that it cannot be used in AC coupled applications? I am looking at using this chip to interface with an FPGA. In the FPGA reference design, a similar chip is used, but the outputs of the equalizer are AC coupled to the FPGA inputs, and I would like to be consistent with the reference design if possible.

    Greetings,

    Per HDMI requirements, DS16EV5110 outputs must be DC coupled - 49.9-ohm to 3.3V. Output of the DS16EV5110 is open-drain and needs 3.3V pull-up resistor. 

    You can consider adding external 49.9-ohm pull-up to 3.3V Resistors to the DS16EV5110A outputs and then AC couple to your FPGA input.
