DS90UB954-Q1: How do I enable/disable the CSI transmit data lanes but keep the clock running?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hello!

Under section 7.4.28.1 (Enabling and Disabling the CSI-2 Transmitter), the steps given require turning off the continuous clock operation.

I would like to keep the clock running.  Is this posssible?  If so, what are the steps I would need to accomplish this?

Background:  The deserializer interfaces with an FPGA with delay chains that require the data lanes to be quiet when changing the delay values during run time.

Thanks!

  • Hello Jonathan,

Here are steps to enable what you are looking for:

    1. Power up 954

    2. Set CSI-2 clock speed in register 0x1F

    3. Enable the CSI-2 transmitter and enable continuous clock mode in register 0x33

    4. Toggle the pattern generator on and then off again to trigger the transmitter to start up. Alternatively you could enable forwarding for one of the active RX ports and then disable it again

After you turn the pattern generator or RX port forwarding off, as long as you leave the transmitter enabled in register 0x33 then the clock lane will stay on but the data lanes will return to LP-11

    Best Regards,

    Casey
