I am trying to use the a host micro controller to communicate with the TI984 deserializer using I2C

The Data sheet is referencing board.WriteI2C function but I cannot find it in the ALP code provided.

Can you please point me to how I can use the board.WriteI2C API with the TI984 deserializer or any other TI de-serialize

Hello Bader,

board.writeI2C is a function call to trigger an I2C write command. The function parameters are as follows:

board.WriteI2C(device_address,register,value)

I am trying to use the function in my implantation without using the ALP software.

How can I find the header file or API for this function ?

Hello Bader,

Are you trying to run scripts talking to the deserializer device using ALP? Or are you trying to develop custom SW for a separate MCU/processor system to talk to the deserializer?

Hello Bader,

Ok in that case you would use the SW code for the processor for generating standard I2C write and read commands, not the ALP SW which is used to run the GUI for the EVM. You can reference the example script for which registers are being written and translate that into the format of the processor development tools.
