TPS65988DJ: TPS65988DJ can't smoothly boot up

Hi Team,

My customer design TPS65988DJ but they directly connect ADCIN1 pin to LDO_3V3 with 100kohm pull pull down. so they find some boards can't power on successfully.

And from datasheet table7 (Boot Mode Pin Strapping), we should have R1 & R2 for resistor divider setting, so when customer change R1 from 0ohm to 10kohm, those fail boot up boards can be power on successfully.

But customer would like to know the reason why can't boot up when R1=0ohm (just directly connect to LDO_3V3.

Could you share R1 and R2 values before and after modification?

Prajith,

Before R1=0ohm & R2=100kohm

After R1=10kohm & R2=100kohm

Hi Paul,

This is a known issue with this controller when pulling ADCIN1 directly to 3.3V. Resistor divider is a must to have.
