SN65DSI84: help request about i.MX8 to Dual LVDS

The customer'd like to know the answer for three questions.

Could you please advise.

(1)Is there any case where the LCD is displayed by combining the i.MX8 system and SN65DSI84?
Would you please teach me the adjustment procedure.
(In addition to the data sheet, the attached tutorial slides, DSI Tuner and their guidelines have been confirmed.)

(2)The LCD is DE Only, and HSync and VSync are ignored.
In this case, is it OK to think that the value of SYNC_DELAY in registers 0x28 and 0x29 does not affect the operation?

(3)For SN65DSI84 data sheets p21 and p22,
> For a robust and low-power implementation, the transition to LP mode is recommended on every video line.
However, with the i.MX8M mini, it seems that the horizontal front porch cannot be set to LP mode.
I think that blank packets will work, but does it affect the operation?

Hi Shinichi,

1. Yes, customers have used i.MX8 systems with the SN65DSI84. I don't have any procedures for any particular processor - you would need to ask NXP.

2. No, because the DSI84 still uses the sync signals to generate the outputs. Please use the default settings for these registers that the DSI-Tuner generates. 

3. LP mode transitions are required once per frame but not once per line - it is only recommended to do it once per line. 

Please make sure the customer has verified all the points in the FAQ that I provided.

If they continue to have issues please provide the following

1. Enter the settings in the DSI-Tuner and provide the .dsi file (press ctrl+e to export the file)

2. A register dump of the DSI84

3. An oscilloscope screenshot of the initialization sequence similar to the FAQ

4. The datasheet for the display panel
