TUSB9260 operating temperature

Hi,

In the data-sheet of TUSB9260 it is written in the "recommended operating conditions" that the free-air operating temperature range is 0c to 70c.

I'm interested in how TI this range was set -  is it just the temperature range in which TI tested the TUSB9260 part (commercial testing and not industrial) or was it because

TI experiensed some difficulties under 0c and\or above 70c.

    Temperatures listed in the data sheets are what we will insure that the device will meet the data sheet parameters over.  No additional comments or implied statements are intended.

    The follow-on, TUSB9261, will be characterized and released over the industrial temperature range.  It should be releasing in the industrial temp range in the second quarter of this year.

    I didn't find any information regarding TUSB9261. Is it going to be pin compatible to the TUSB9260?

    No, the two devices can not be pin compatible.

    One of the major differences between the two devices is the removal of the 1.8V supply - this by itself drives a new pinout. 

    Preliminary data manual is attached - note this is preliminary and subject to change prior to release of the TUSB9261.

    Dan,

    The TUSB9261 data sheet indicates operation over industrial temp, but the product pages from the website and ESP show commercial temp.  Can you confirm the data sheet is correct, and the part is rated over the industrial temp range?

    Peter,

    The data sheet WILL be correct soon...

    We fully characterized the device for industrial temperature range but presently only production test for commerical range.  Hence the released orderable, TUSB9261PVP, only supports commerical temperature range.

    We are in the process of the needed system and paperwork to release the industrial temp orderable, TUSB9261IPVP.  It expect it should be before the end of October.
