DS90UB953-Q1: Communication quality at all temperature range

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Hi Expert,

My customer have a question about communication quality at all temperature range.

Could you please provide me any data of the communication quality at all temperature range?

----

for example,

BER at Ta(or Tj)= -40C, 0C, 25C, 85C, 105C and 150C

Graph : X-axis : Temperature, Y-axis : BER

----

Thanks

Muk

  • Hi Muk,

One of our documents under the 953 Technical Documentation contains results from a test comparing temperature and BER.

    Taken from DS90UB953-Q1/DS90UB954-Q1 I2S Evaluation (Rev. A)

    Thanks,

    Carrie

  • Hi Carrie-san,

    Customer confirmed the materials.

Customer think that it is the result of communication quality evaluation (of control system) regarding I2S communication [several MHz band].

Customer requested about  the video transmission [several GHz band] that is the FPD-Link III main stream.

(confirmation that there is no video packet loss due to the IC guaranteed temperature upper limit, etc.).

In the document, it was stated that the test could only be performed at -20°C to 85°C due to the limitations of the measurement tool.

Customer would like to kwon the result that is in according the guaranteed temperature range of this IC. (-40 < Tj <150C )

If you don't have any data for it, and if you need the verification. Could you please let me know the available date?

    Thanks

    Muk

  • Hello Muk-san,

During validation, we verify that the device operates without error in the range on the data sheet. The device is qualified for full operation within the specified range.

BER is system dependent.  If errors are occurring, make sure that all other components and connections in the system are designed to handle the extreme temperatures, if you haven’t already. Other system-level errors that could factor into decreased performance include PCB materials and solder joints. You can use the BIST feature to test the BER for your system design.

    Thank you,

    Carrie
