DP83848YB: Ready time , bootstrapped - with no autoneg.

I am going to use the dp83848YB device ,

and i need it to be ready as fast as possible ,

i'm using all the bootstraps needed to configure it to my use case - with no autoneg ,

I need an estimation of the time it will take till the phy is ready to create "link" ( assuming the MAC is ready and the endpoint is also ready)

Hello Dan,

Unfortunately I could not locate the characterization data for the link-up. Nominal number can be <1s but exact number depends upon link-partner, cable length etc. So I may not be able to give you more granual number.

i would appreciate it - if you could explain or refer me to the details of creation of "Link" , i'm trying to follow the whole process ,

i'm focusing on the case of forced link - autoneg. is disabled. both on my end and at the link partner.

Hi Dan,

Link-procedure details are in the IEEE specification document but it may not be able to give you link-up time information as inherent to each phy there is an engine which carries out this handshake with link-partner and hence link-up time will change from phy to phy (plus convergence has dependency on cable and link-partner).

What is the link-up time number you are looking for? And I can explore if that is probable or not.

In forced mode < 1s should be achievable. Kindly check with link-partner also.
