DS90UB954-Q1: PoC_how much Vdc can be delivered?

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi team,

Could you tell me how much Vdc can be delivered by PoC to deliver power to ser. and camera from des.?
Is it only related to L and C component?

In addition, isn't connecting battery directly recommended for automotive application? I wonder if battery noise affects FPD link III signal.

Regards,
Ochi

  • Hello Ochi,

    1. The maximum Vdc that can be put on the network will be related to what the components in the network and the AC coupling caps are rated for.  A higher voltage typically means less current draw and therefore less noise which is better for the signal transmission. However the AC caps working voltage is listed as 50V so I would recommend not using devices rated for more than that.

    2. I don't recommend directly connecting the battery to the PoC network, there can definitely be extra noise that could disrupt the data transmission.  We typically recommend LDO regulators wherever possible and if they are not possible then a high frequency switching regulator.

    Regards,

    Nick
