TPD2S703-Q1: Abnormal operation at Vref pin

Part Number: TPD2S703-Q1

Hi Experts,

My customer met a quite strange phenomenon when using TPD2S703-Q1. When they remove Vpwr and pull up EN pin, theoretically the device should shut down and the switch between VD+ and D+ should be turned off. But actually, the switch between VD+ and D+ is still connected, and the voltage at Vref pin is 2.6V.

Further test they found Vref=2.6V occurs only when D+ is pulled up to 3.3V, which is the start of full-speed device connection. So I suppose that there may be some current from D+ that charges the capacitor at Vref. I have compared customer's schematic with EVM but find nothing special. Could you please help to analyze why the switch between VD+ and D+ is still closed and Vref is 2.6V when the device is disabled? Thank you.

BR,

Arie

  • Hi Arie,

Could you attached the schematic and test waveform for analysis?

You mention the device  Vpwr pin and EN pin set low the data switch between VD+/- and D+/- still turn on ,that is not in SPEC.

I suspect this is customer test setup issue. It need to check the device PIN voltage but not only power off the  DC supply for analysis.
