Family designations aren't all that consistent across TI, and the ones you are thinking of are specific just to the Logic products. We usually just refer to TCA9548A as being one of our I2C switches. Within this category there are a couple of different types of part numbers (PCA* and TCA*). These are similar in functionality with the differences being that the TCA* devices are generally newer designs that have fewer operating restrictions (such as wider VCC/temp ranges, lack of specific errata items mentioned in equivalent PCA*-series datasheets, etc.).
