TRS3232E: pin 5 and pin 6 short to GND damage of TRS3232

Hi team,

My customer is using the TRS3232E now. Currently we have found 4/120 pcs sockets' pin 5 and pin 6 are short to GND. Do you have some ideas about which condition will make the pin 5 and pin 6 short to GND damage? Thanks.

Do the failure parts have the issue at both pins or one pin each time? What's external capacitor type? How far are the cap to the IC? Can you check the grounding of the system? Pin 5 and 6 generate negative charge pump voltage which is about -5.4V to the ground. I'm not sure if some noise is coupled through the ground path.
